This last week I had the opportunity to spend a week with Peter Block and the faculty of his organisation Designed Learning. The week was spent going deep into the content, context and background of Peter’s best selling book “Flawless Consulting” which was written nearly 40 years ago. I first came across the book around 20 years ago and it has had a huge impact on my work since then.
Flawless is a consulting skills training that provides individuals the skills to have their expertise used in situations where they have influence, but no direct control. This includes internal change agents or people from centres of excellence like HR, IT or Finance and the skills are also valuable for those in B2B Sales. The course unleashes the talents of leaders and employees alike and gives them the skills to become more strategic business partners through clearer communication, solid contracting, effective assertiveness and clear conflict management.
The course is delivered face to face in various formats:
Flawless Consulting 1 – A two day experience with the core concepts.
Flawless Consulting 2 – This builds on the core skills, add some additional ones and gets the participants to imbed the ideas through a deep simulation that runs over the course of the two days.
Accelerated Flawless – A three day programme that condenses the two programmes together.
I am thrilled after the week long deep dive and train the trainer programme, to have been asked to support the delivery of Flawless Consulting in Europe on behalf of Designed learning.
